Description
The JS168 is an electronic vibration/impact and anti-false alarm device designed to warn of attack on ATM (Automated Teller Machines) and Night Safes.
The product is mounted with the slide release mechanism fully extended over the keyhole or combination lock thereby physically preventing the protected installation from being opened by unauthorised persons.
This device has two distinct functions; firstly it prevents accidental false alarms. This can occur if an attempt is made to operate the protected equipment key/combination lock before the circuit is isolated at the main alarm control panel. Secondly, this device will detect and warn of attack by way of drilling, cutting, hammering, explosion and thermal lance.
This product is an integrated version of the ERS (Electronic Release Slide) Products and the highly successful EVD V4.0 (JS163, - to address the problems of complexity in a multi-sensor environment Explosion Vibration Detector). The ERS and EVD have been unified reduction in overall installation power requirement, lower installation costs and strengthen overall reliability. The JS168 offers the complete ATM and Night Safe security solution whether it is protection of a new unattended/remote site or the upgrade of an older system. For those familiar with the ERS, this product has a body length that is only 50mm longer than the standard ERS. All other dimensions are unchanged and this means that in most cases, retrofitting is possible. This affords an extremely cost-effective method of upgrading older ERS installations – especially those that have no electronic attack detection capability or those installations that require a BS4737 to BS7042 upgrade. Shown left; the JS168 kit includes a crank mechanism for mounting over combination locks or a short fingerplate for keyhole applications - complete with two spare screws. Deeper cranks are available as an optional extra for exceptionally large combination locks.
RECOMMENDATION
We strongly recommend that ERS/EVD is supported by JS195 (Remote Head).
The reasons are;
Mounting on the door will need a lot more vibration to activate, as the vibration will need to travel through the door hinges of the ATM machine, if it is attacked from the side or the back of machine.
As a stand alone installation (without JS195 Remote Head), there may be a need to set the sensitivity at much higher level, which may lead to false alarm.
