OVERVIEW

The JS163 electronic Explosion Vibration Detector is a fourth generation sensor of the renowned EVD product line. Designed for use on ATMs (Automated Teller Machines), free standing safes, strongroom walls and other high risk environments, this multifaceted sensor identifies the most commonly encountered forms of attack such as drilling, cutting, hammering, explosion and thermal lance. Using the latest signal-processing technology coupled with a unique False Alarm Avoidance (FA2) algorithm, the EVD minimises false alarm risk. A self-test function is included with the JS163 EVD. The central alarm control panel can remotely invoke the test facility in order to verify correct sensor operation. This would normally be carried out on a weekly basis. The JS163 is physically and electrically (terminations) backward compatible with the JS111. This means that existing installations may be easily upgraded at minimum cost with the benefit of improved system integrity associated with the Version 4.0 model. As the EVD is a central signal management device, using a JS148 or JS190 remote head unit and/or the JS161 SLN (Smoke Light Noise) affords extension of the area of coverage. This maximises security at minimal cost. The remote head option is particularly useful when specific BS4737 installations need to be upgraded to BS7042.
