OVERVIEW

The SLN is designed to respond to emissions characteristic of heat generating cutting equipment such as the more traditional thermal lance and arc/air slice tools. This ceiling mounted detector is ideally suited for all types of high-risk environment such as bank vaults, book rooms and safe deposit facilities. Although this device may be used in a standalone situation, the full benefit of the detector is realised when it is coupled with the advanced signal processing Explosion Vibration Detector (EVD). The complementary EVD-SLN topology enhances the front-line detection capability of the installation by way of several output verification options thereby minimising false alarm conditions yet ensuring optimum performance. Concurrent operation of three separate circuits within the SLN ensures that only genuine attack signals generate an alarm condition. An optical smoke detector, a factory calibrated light detector and an audio output stage form the primary sensory elements. Each separate output allows an intelligent central alarm system to discriminate between a legitimate breach of security and a potential false alarm.
